It's Been Awhile

Hi Everyone!

Gosh I feel like it has been FOREVER since I've written. Not to worry, I haven't deserted you. Just lots going on these days. My son plays on two different hockey teams...he's only 7, and it never ceases to amaze me how one little person can consume so much of my time. I think (OK, hope) that this weekend is the end of it all. I also had the pleasure of attending a really great marketing conference in Orlando in January and another one in Washington DC in February. I got to meet some truly inspiring people. These are the kind of people who have either overcome tremendous obstacles to achieve amazing success or have accomplished more by the ripe old age of 24 than most people have accomplished in their entire lives. The only problem with meeting people like this is that no matter how hard you work or how much you accomplish, you always feel like a slacker. Maybe it's just me.

Anyway, I've been working on some fantastic new baubles for spring (now that I actually have a glimmer of hope that we might get there). I also have some great events coming up. Check out my Events page in the coming week for all the details. And of course tell all of your friends about Custom Baubles. Tell them that my baubles are economical retail therapy in these difficult financial times (which I refuse to spend too much time bemoaning...the media does enough of it!)

Until next time...

BRRRRRR!!!

If you live in a warm climate, I don't want to hear about it. If you're currently experiencing winter and everything that comes with it (snow, sleet, freezing temps, more snow) then you can feel my pain. Here in the Chicago area, it has been so cold for so long that I'm starting to think that Alaska must have milder winters than we do. Seriously!

OK, enough about that. As promised, I have put over 40 new baubles on the site for your viewing (and purchasing) pleasure. Please check them out. And don't forget about my Valentine's Day Recession Special. You've still got time to pick something out for yourself or someone special.

Just one more thing. I would like to thank my loyal supporters who have posted really favorable reviews of me and my work on www.yelp.com . I truly appreciate the positive comments and feedback.

Post Holiday Frenzy

Happy New Year!

I don't know about you, but I like to start the year off with everything being really organized and clutter free...many of my friends think I am a little psychotic with this, but I don't hear them complaining when they need something from me and I know EXACTLY where it is.

I've also been busy coming up with some new baubles for Valentine's Day. Check out my site this week for some fabulous new pieces. And yes, I am completely aware that the economy is in the toilet (sorry, I couldn't think of a more polite word) and so I will take pity on my fellow Americans who want to look fabulous no matter what. You will have to visit my site (give me a few days to get it updated) to see how I plan to entice you into splurging on yourself. Better yet, find something you like and hit the "Email a Friend" button and email a gentle hint to your significant others so you're not disappointed on Valentine's Day.

I've gotta get back to work, but I will close with my usual subtle reminder to tell your friends about Custombaubles.com and don't forget to sign up for my free newsletter.

Happy Holidays--Continued

I hope you are all enjoying the season. To get in the spirit of things, my family and I drove to a tree farm in Wisconsin and chopped down our very own Christmas tree. We do this every year, and every year I am surprised that the tree is much larger than I thought by the time we get it home. We set a new record this year...9 1/2 feet. Luckily, we have high ceilings!

Marta and I had a couple of fun events last week. We were asked to participate in an event at The Drake hotel in Chicago called "Tea With Jane". The proceeds from this event went to the Jane Addams Hull House, a diverse organization that assists individuals in becoming self-reliant. We got to be supermodels for an afternoon....OK, maybe just plain models. In addition to showing off our Custom Baubles jewelry to the very distinguished crowd, we wore some amazing fur coats and really nice clothes from the Carlisle Collection. My jewelry was such a hit, I actually ran out of business cards. I love that these ladies had such great taste. :)

The very next evening, at the urging of several of my friends and neighbors, I hosted a party at my home. My very large Christmas tree and offerings of wine and food created quite the festive mood. It was so much fun to see everyone enthusiastically trying on my Baubles. It reminded me of playing dress up in my (much) younger years. Many of my guests were able to get some holiday shopping done for their loved ones...and themselves. :)

Make sure you check back on our site later this week as I will be adding some new Baubles to the collection. And don't forget that we are offering FREE SHIPPING for the Holidays. We are trying to do our part to make your holiday season as stress free as possible.

Happy Holidays!!

I have finally come out of my food coma...as usual, I could not control myself during Thanksgiving dinner. Plus, we hosted the big event, so there were tons of leftovers tempting me all over again the next day. I did manage to run three miles with Marta today, though, so that is a step in the right direction.

We have had a busy couple of weeks here at Custom Baubles. We just finished the Modern Vintage Holiday Market in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago. This event raised money for the Anti-Cruelty Society. Marta looked smashing modeling my baubles while walking a very cute little canine for the TV cameras. I was thrilled with the compliments I received on some of my pieces. The handful of European visitors who stopped by to see us were particularly enthusiastic...I felt so worldly all of a sudden. :)

Now that our online shopping cart is up and running, I would love to hear from you regarding your shopping experience with us. We want it to be fun, easy and painless. Please let us know if we are accomplishing that goal. Don't forget to tell your friends about us....and let your significant others know about the baubles on your wish list.
